This mission flips the usual script in a way, this time you're not a thief but an agent looking to uncover a conspiracy and I like this different scenario. The story telling is really good, the readables are well written and informative but don't drag on too long like in some missions, and I really got invested in uncovering all the secrets.

Good atmosphere, it reminded me of Cragscleft a bit, being a fortress in the mountains. It's kind of forgettable in terms of the actual layout though, very simple and straightforward. That's not necessarily a bad thing if you're simply looking to kill an hour or two, it won't be the best mission you've ever played but it's still entertaining. I ...

Can I just say; Garrett should totally just buy a second set of lockpicks. Seriously, they cost him one horn of quintus, and with how many FMs involve re-stealing it, just... get some futureproofing already.
Or maybe he has done that, and Garrett has just left a trail of lockpicks across the entire city already because he is so clumsy with them...

This mission is about as good as it can be, and turns out that is pretty good.
This is a standard mansion mission, with a slightly unusual set of objectives. It's well built (some of the brushwork is a bit weak in places, this is very much pre-newdark, so I can give it a pass on that) doesn't feel overly restrictive after the initial introdu...

This mission is bad.
It is massive and does not use that space. It's full of strange design. I do kind of like the fact that one of the objective items is a rat. I also didn't spot anything obviously offensive. Unfortunately, that's where the missions good points end. It's mostly just big, bland, and ugly. With it's size making it not even a ...

One of the downsides to playing so many Fan missions is inevitably becoming jaded to "normal" missions, and naturally biased towards the more unusual FMs in thiefs fandom. (I suspect this is the reason film critics often end up prefering strange indie movies, over blockbusters.) This mission feeds perfectly into that bias.
Embracing the enemy...

The ritual is one of those missions where the meta-narrative of the author slowly improving is probably more interesting than the mission itself. You are garrett, and... well the description of the mission gives you the whole plot already, so I can skip to talking about the execution.
This mission has a lot to like. But only in it's second ha...

I can't help but write a brief review in what's become one of my personal favorite fan-missions.
This FM has you stealing from the mayor at first, only to find a horrific scene requiring a bit of detective work and a change of main target. It takes place in an urban environment, with several tight corners and spaces with highly rewarding exp...

This one is a mixed experience. You begin to hate it, then suddenly it gets interesting, and then makes you frown again.
Gameplay-wise, it's an adevnture game on Dark Engine. Find one object, use it in the room across the map to gain access to another room. Repeat 10 times. There are some puzzles to it and they're fair, but nothing particular...

Apart from the environment on the outside (which is somewhat bland), the inside of the castle (where the missions takes place) is very well detailed, with several floors to explore. A careful exploration is a must for this one, given the fact that the upper floors are not immediately accessible, leading to your main goal being stealing the Sword...

Imagine exploring a swamp, collecting bugs in a jar you got from a which hut, talking to people who give you optional quests. Doesn’t sound much like Thief, does it? Neither does walking around a manor, poisoned and coughing every few dozen seconds alerting the nearby guards. This campaign is a community effort and is full of fun secrets. And y...

The worst part of this mission isn't anything in the mission itself. It's the fact that it seems there isn't going to be a continuation of the story and the authors haven't made another fan mission since. This mission is great in every way. It has great visuals, plenty of different paths to choose, and tons of details. I hope one day that these ...

This mission is at first thought a reimagining of Thief's Guild mission from Thief Gold, but if you play it you will see it's very different and original. You start in a very small piece of the city very pretty and well designed and then descend into the underground to discover a whole city with various building some cylindrical some rectangula...

A very well crafted heist that takes you from the streets to a thieves' hideout, but with a twist.
Well crafted, nice to look at, and full of well-placed loot and secrets (One hidden area in particular is absolutely fantastic and deserves at least an extra star on its own. ). Enemy placement in particular is quite elegant (if not a little eas...

This is a very hard mission, its not for the faint of heart and you absolutely need to play it. You may need a guide, or dive deep enough to read a LOT of readables, but in the end the experience is worth it.
There is a lot of love in the mission. The ambiance is one of the best of any FM out there, author knows how to be subtle. The design ...

Really atmospheric stuff in here. What "A Thief's Training" does with visuals is really impressive, as it brings into broad daylight arguably the darkest game in the series, and one of its darker themes as well. Both the little city section and the compound look very good and you get some brilliant sunlight effects, which are rare even in T2 FMs...

A wondrous re-imagining of sorts of the often reviled Thieves' Guild original mission from the first game, Rogues' Lair draws you in further and further into the shadowy underbelly of The City after beginning with a simple vase heist turned awry.
Although vaguely reminiscent of the scenery and plot change as the player continues their ...
