The worst part of this mission isn't anything in the mission itself. It's the fact that it seems there isn't going to be a continuation of the story and the authors haven't made another fan mission since. This mission is great in every way. It has great visuals, plenty of different paths to choose, and tons of details. I hope one day that these ...

This mission is at first thought a reimagining of Thief's Guild mission from Thief Gold, but if you play it you will see it's very different and original. You start in a very small piece of the city very pretty and well designed and then descend into the underground to discover a whole city with various building some cylindrical some rectangula...

A very well crafted heist that takes you from the streets to a thieves' hideout, but with a twist.
Well crafted, nice to look at, and full of well-placed loot and secrets (One hidden area in particular is absolutely fantastic and deserves at least an extra star on its own. ). Enemy placement in particular is quite elegant (if not a little eas...

This is a very hard mission, its not for the faint of heart and you absolutely need to play it. You may need a guide, or dive deep enough to read a LOT of readables, but in the end the experience is worth it.
There is a lot of love in the mission. The ambiance is one of the best of any FM out there, author knows how to be subtle. The design ...

Really atmospheric stuff in here. What "A Thief's Training" does with visuals is really impressive, as it brings into broad daylight arguably the darkest game in the series, and one of its darker themes as well. Both the little city section and the compound look very good and you get some brilliant sunlight effects, which are rare even in T2 FMs...

A wondrous re-imagining of sorts of the often reviled Thieves' Guild original mission from the first game, Rogues' Lair draws you in further and further into the shadowy underbelly of The City after beginning with a simple vase heist turned awry.
Although vaguely reminiscent of the scenery and plot change as the player continues their ...

Amazing setting and superb execution. The mission flows smoothly as butter with max loot being achievable by non-excessive poking around. The fresh additions such as deployable ropes, small bit of puzzle solving and clever traps add a refreshing rhythm.
Secret area is a great cinematic set piece with brilliant set building and effects. A lov...

I can't believe it's taken nearly 25 years to figure out what's behind the doors at the end of Thief TDP's training mission (unless another FM author has done that and I missed it), but here we are. Snake has created a Keeper compound that feels very in-line with what we've seen in both official and fan made works. While this mission's inspirat...

There is so much love in this mission it goes off the charts. All the placements of objects, the rooms plans and loot, everything is meticulously placed.
Its a very rare breed of FM's that make a world that feels lived in, and this one nails it. It was made with a feel for line of sight, rewarding curiosity, perfect mix of scale that feels tig...

After playing so many fan missions one can begin to think that everything has become stale and played out, and then a mission like this one comes along. Wow! A Thief's training is just dripping with atmosphere, with truly striking daytime visuals and a top-tier use of music and ambient noises to create a sense of place that had me pausing severa...

I played this mission and I was left with the impression that the author has a real talent for building Thief The Dark Project maps. I really hope he will not stop here and build some more maps. The atmosphere and gameplay of the mission are simply wonderful. This is a daylight mission which i recommend to everyone. It really left a strong impre...

A good mission that feels like a leftover/spin-off from The Black Parade that did not fit narratively into the campaign by some of its authors in disguise (the overall level of craft in all aspects but also the amount of similarities/references is such that it's hard to believe this is really a beginner effort) - even the formulae/mannerisms and...

I really enjoyed this one. It's a nice, creepy little mission with plenty to steal, a mystery to solve, and it doesn't drag on too long. The author has a real eye for lights- some of the volumetric rays are just amazing. The readables were effective too. Just enough to give some flavour to the mission while still leaving an air of mystery and no...

Although the title spoils the "surprise", still it kinda caught me off guard - in quite a pleasant way! One of the best homages to an original mission. Also: another fantastic map set in daylight! If you've played a lot of fan missions, you'll clearly see from where the author has taken the inspirations, but I think the ideas were remixed with a...

Since it doesn't have any reviews yet, let me briefly summarize the whole series here in one place.
A Love Story is a predominantly city-mission series (except for parts 5.1, 5.2), the premise of which is doing a number of tasks to help your buddies in their love affairs. Fetching items constitutes the bulk of gameplay in the series, with an ...

A straight forward, small-time bank heist with a big pay-off.
Despite finishing it quickly, I was pleasantly surprised by a few things the creator decided to add in, especially for a beginner map-maker when this was created. When you're not resisting the urge to batter every passerby's skull in with your newly discovered mace—a reward for the...

I didn't really like this mission.
I think the idea is cool, having AI fight each other, hunting for gear, having some sort of high-tension escape. The problem lies in the lack of polish and overall general feeling of someone who knows what they WANT to do, but not being 100% sure how to achieve it.
Your main objective is to find a sword, ...
