"Resurgence - The Ancient Crown" puts you in the shoes of a private eye hired to investigate the theft of a certain valuable item.
A great deal of care was put into the presentation of the narrative. Consistent with the theme and the setting, you get guns, phone calls, even stationary subway train (man, I wonder if there's an FM with a worki...

Whatever you'd expect of a Cardia FM, you'll find it here.
There's some really decent brushwork, very little story, and zero coherence.
Several places look very good, if a bit repetitive. The stealth element is *somewhat* here (albeit hampered by awful sound propagation). You'll get to visit some apartments, a respectable fortress, a medi...

All mission that entered the 10th anniversary contest had to squeeze max content from a small size. This one does one better. It uses the thief difficulty system to set 3 small parts. Different spawns and items. Some exploration, some puzzle and some undead hunting ...with weird items. I can't say it's one of my favorites, but it deservers a hig...

Someone said once there is a mission that looks like your monitor is broken. I had to try it and found that this is one of those mystery "what happened to this village" types that I like (like Eclipsed). The atmosphere, strange creatures lurking around and the written notes just lure you in further. But then you reach a point where you wander ar...

--MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD--
Rowena's Curse is another FM of the early favourites.
The story is its strongest point as it very quickly gets you hooked and wanting to push and discover more. The characters are intriguing and presented from multiple other characters' point of view. There's more than enough depth not to have any flat or stereotyp...

So I've recently begun playing through TDM's fan missions, starting from the older ones and working my way up, and this is the first one that's really 'wowed' me... but it also outstayed its welcome. Fortunately, a lot of its objectives are optional, so you can condense the experience for yourself. I didn't want to, initially, but as more additi...

Definitely one of the highlights of the game, The Sword manages to produce a deeply disorienting and scary feeling. The ground floor of the mansion seems normal enough, if a little questionable in choice of decor, but as you ascend to the upper floors things get weirder and weirder.
You'll encounter physics-defying architecture, disorienting ...

This speedbuild mission was clearly released unfinished; there are locked doors that can only be bashed in because there are no keys, huge empty rooms, unfinishable objectives, and an unsatisfiable loot goal. The first handful of rooms are passably decent, but the remainder of the mansion is oversized and mostly empty. It still would have rated ...

So, Bad Blood 2 is actually a mini-campaign of 3 missions - one being a brief introduction.
It follows the theme of trains from the first part, but develops it a lot - as bonus entertainment now you can have fun with an operating loco as well as some basic signals and switches (also luring guards in front of it running).
It also seems to s...

Expect the blend of GORT-esque world and Sluggs-y gameplay.
You'll get neon lights, trains passing by, flashlights - all kinds of visual gimmickery.
This mission will throw you in, saying "go," without much context and with the aim of finding out what to do. There's actually a lot to be found and done, but almost all of it completely outsi...

This won a contents for small sized missions by having the best design. There is a lot of verticality, a ton of keys and quite a bit of snoring. It is a cool, short mission that actually has an interesting story. There are some plot twists. Unfortunately I could not complete it fully. One of the areas was inaccessible because I couldn't make the...

This is one of the earliest FMs that gained popularity. It certainly was one of the very few snow missions at the time. It's a short campaign to be precise, but the first of 3 missions is a prolonged not skippable cut scene (innovative, but annoying). And the last mission is very short. Still the middle mission is good enough for a high rating.

This participated in a contents with tight constrictions to the mission size. And yet the author squeezed every bit. I don't think this mission is special, but I has great ambiance and surprises later on. Still, the cramped size of the mission make some maneuvers harder.

The Rose Cottage is much more mystery than horror. No weapons and lots of atmosphere and some cool scripted moments. The manor in which this takes place is designed superbly. Give this one a try.

I remember having a lot of fun with that back in the day, and looks like the old gem still got it.
Surely there are several aspects which wouldn't impress today, but one has to respect the breakthogh it represented 20+ years ago.
And the number one reason it's still great fun is its classic Thief gameplay - remaining stealthy, avoiding guard...

The first thing you'll notice are the mission's quite unique looks.
There's nothing visually explosive, but the colors work really well. Dark orange tint and green lights give this mission character and nicely fit its horror theme. The atmosphere is very tense, as you're put in a dark, unfamiliar spaces, not knowing what to expect.
It's also ...

what i liked:
i loved the aesthetics and general atmosphere of that place. there were definitely some really creative visual set pieces.
what could be better:
i think there was a general lack of story. Letters or diary entries really help to flesh out a place in my opinion, especially to give the people and the place some character. and tha...
