Compared to the wonderful Keeper's Training from Thief 1, this tutorial level is a bit disappointing. While it does its job of teaching new players the mechanics of the game, it doesn't do anything to impart any of the wonder and grandeur of the Thief universe. It's just kind of a bland, muddy brown tavern heist

I've beta tested missions that I've later given middling or low scores to. Why should picking out Z-fighting, verifying that scripted events work correctly, and making sure people can't climb out of the map bounds disqualify me from judging the mission on how fun it is to play? At this point I think you're just looking for things to whinge about.

I agree. There are some who think that if you're not mapping six city blocks and creating half a gig of custom assets, why are you even trying to map? I don't subscribe to that view.

Very linear but not horrible

This mansion mission consists mostly of a linear chain of rooms. It's very one-directional, with only a handful of side rooms or any kind of alternate routes.

Aside from that it's an OK mission. Looting is fun, the guard patrols are fair to both ghosters and blackjack-happy thieves, and the mansion rooms are put together pretty well.
