Topics regarding selected fan missions (any language is allowed, however English is recommended)
A few days ago, I started replaying Thief Gold. It's my first time on Expert. Since I did not skip the Thieves' Guild mission the first time around, I dreaded the idea of replaying it. Thus, I started looking if some fan mission managed to update the original. To a lot of coincidence, I found that this fan mission was released only two weeks ago...

TL:DR: If you like humor in the style of the movie "Meet the Spartans", you will very likely like this mission! If you dislike this movie, then stay away from it.
Long version:
Ok, to be clear: I don´t have a problem with potty humor. And this mission is based around that.
Well, if it only would that be...
This mission feels like some h...

Everything you love about The Dark Project condensed into a single mission. A little bit of puzzling, a little bit of horror, a lot of stealth... Not too hard but not a cakewalk either. Loot is easy to find and in logical places whilst still rewarding being thorough. There's also a secret area which is just the icing on the cake. One of the best...

Really, perfect example of how to ruin a mission with a completely convoluted, complicated, and unncessarily difficult in terms of enemies end. Until then, I had great fun in the mission, but, the end really ruins everything for me. Disappointing.

For the past few months I've been playing through Intruders backlog of missions and this is definitely their best work in my opinion. For a Bonehoard-type mission, the layout is easy to read & navigate even without a detailed map, but still feels like you're properly exploring an area. Cool!
Unfortunately, on expert mode I found the loot goa...

I'm not gonna sit here and try to wax poetic about a fan mission made by a wrestling fan from the 90s, but I have to say that "There's an old 'friend' of yours waiting in the ring, layeth the smack down on his candy ass!" is an incredibly funny objective to read in a Thief game.

First things first:
Is TBP (The Black Parade) good?
Yes
Should you play TBP?
Yes
Is TBP the best thing to come out of the thief community?
Best might be the wrong word, but there is no single thief campaign with such consistantly high quality. It's also one of the longest campaigns ever released.
If you haven't already, download TBP, ...

This mission is obviously a nod to the Moira Island TDS mission. A classic mansion robbery, with a tad of horror elements added. The design is well done and the atmospheric sounds are well-placed. Also, some backstory added. The writings make sense, enough for the story and not too much.
A handful of secrets are there to be found.
Difficulty-w...

I've moved several times in my life, and this FM perfectly captures that feeling of packing up to a tea. Just good, innocent moving game-play for experts and casuals alike. Reminds me of my old 🇭🇴🇺🇸🇪. Shame about poor wellingtoncrab though. I hope they find them.
Just make sure to give this FM a look!

Both of the mirrors here are broken and lead to 404 pages. The download is still up on Dropbox through the Dark Mod forums.

I didn't know what I was going into when downloading this, as I didn't read the description or pay attention to the screenshots. I didn't play anything else from the authors. The only information I had was the high rating. So, it was pleasant discovering the peculiarities and eerie feel of the first mission. Yes, this is a micro campaign of two...

An enjoyable basic mission that doesn't outstay it's welcome, good for someone just getting into TDM.
I enjoyed the stealth gameplay despite feeling quite easy to due to over-reliance on ambient light, which unfortunately makes this fm look quite washed out and bland in many places (probably unplayable with ambient dropped to 0). Still solid ...

This mission is really detail-rich with a strong emphasis on vertical gameplay and opening up one-way passages.
The sheer complexity of the map layout however quickly tires, leading to walking the same passages again and again to make sure nothing of importance was missed. This quickly becomes time-consuming and the player should plan four, ev...

The mission looks ok and certainly feels alive. The amount of npcs with custom behavior is amazing. The loot is great too, its fun to discover secrets. The objectives are really really horrible and were only made to stretch the playtime. find 5x find key x... Its a grindy keychase, nothing more. That you have to use your blackjack on things is n...

This is the kind of mission I had in mind when I first heard of the "Thief: Deadly Shadows 20th Anniversary Contest". If you've loved the mission "House of the Widow Moira " from TDS, this one is definitely for you. The assets were used in such a great way (along with the fantastic lighting setup) you might often forget you're actually playing ...
