Bloodstone Prison,
Good FM with one annoyance:
This map was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Haunted building missions usually means zombies-galore, but this one surprised me in being a decent stealth mission. This is because most of the enemies patrolling the prison are haunts, who are basically just the undead version of normal guards. The atmosphere and layout of the level were also fantastic. It felt like a real building, with Hammer living quarters, a church, and the damp prison blocks underneath all of that. The current co...,

Shunned,
Not that fun but still kinda cool:
When I started this FM out, I was wondering why it had a general 7/10 rating. It seemed rather basic and wasn't even much of a stealth mission; more of a zombie fest. I'm not against zombies, but I can't deny that they're annoying to deal with, especially with all the cramped spaces in the house. Speaking of the house, it had some neat stuff but I've seen better. Also, the hunt for the cellar key almost got on my nerves, but exploring thoroughly gets the job done. My only advice for Expert le...,

The Death of Garrett,
Smashing frogs with rocks:
This FM had a fun name, and I was glad to see that it generally lived up to its title. Sure, Garrett doesn't die, but at least it was playable and enjoyable. The beginning in the cave tunnels was fun, especially because it gives you all these rocks that can be thrown at the frogs, making them explode. Then there's the mansion heist, where you have to frame Bok for a murder and steal a magical chalice. Nothing extremely interesting, but it has all these small details that were really fun. ...,

Autumn in Lampfire Hills (v2),
Impressive, but didn't hit the mark for me.:
This should be a FM that I really like. Take the art design for instance: you set out on a crisp Halloween evening, navigating cramped city roads, quiet buildings, creepy sewers, ominous tombs, and the cozy Inn and cottage that serve as respites from it all. Each area has a unique look yet still adheres to a central art style. I love the story setup too: a retired Garret going on one more looting spree just because he's curious about his cottage and wants to start blade collection. Runnin...,

The Vigil,
Generally cool level:
This sequel to "Lord Edmund Entertains!" is definitely a fun romp through and through, with plenty of neat puzzles and navigation challenges (that Hammerite machine room being my favorite). It takes you to a number of places and is overall more expansive than this author's previous FM, but it also seems more unfocused. For instance, once you're done with this level's main objective, the rest of the mission is figuring out how to get back to your starting point, which takes you through all s...,

The Shadow of Lord Rothchest (T2),
MUCH better version of this FM.:
If you know anything about the original FM that this is a port of, you know that it had several problems, the biggest being that it covered up the sky box with this ugly green texture for some weird reason. The textures and lighting on the level was all over place too, and overall it was just a really messy package that was only sort of saved by its creepy writing. This version, however, seeks to correct all of these things and I feel that it is (mostly) successful.
First of all, this le...,

The Shadow of Lord Rothchest,
Really rough around the edges.:
I was going to play "Autumn in Lampfire Hills" when I noticed in its description it mentioned that Garret had previously stolen from two names I hadn't seen before: Rothchest and Edmund. When I figured out that these were based on two separate Fan missions ("Lord Edmund Entertains" and this one), I went to play them both just to see what made them worth mentioning. While the Edmund mission was pretty good, this one was extremely amateur.
For starters, what the hell is going on with the...,

Good but be mindful of that last bit of loot.:
Overall, this is another fun and playable early map for Thief. The writing is the standout here. Whether it helped me to figure out the story/level or was just plain funny, every scroll and text was worth reading. The lore behind the thing you're stealing really made me question if it was even a good idea to be stealing it. In terms of the level design, the layout is very small and simple. Nonetheless, it uses its environment well and no room feels like it lacks a purpose. I particularl...,

The Library,
Fun but definitey begginer level quality.:
I like Libraries and I like Hammerites, so when I saw the level's description I knew I had to play it. I went in knowing it would probably be pretty low quality when compared to the FMs released after this one and as such my expectations were low enough to enjoy the level for what it was. It's faults are ones that you would expect out of a developer's first map: it's overly lit, lacks finer details, and has very blocky level design. Instead of harping on those things, let's look at what th...,

Circle of Strain Campaign,
Good Enough:
These missions are nothing spectacular or even particularly interesting, but they are nonetheless simple and solid. This is especially notable when you consider that these levels were made back in 1999 - 2000. There's barely a story connecting the 3 levels, so I'm just going to quickly review each one independently here.
#1. The first level, as well as the second one, are set during the daytime, which is neat as most levels are set at night. It gives the level a kind of sleepy-morning a...,

Geller's Pride,
Great FM, but one warning before playing:
This is the first FM I've ever played and it sets the stage very well. I know there exists much more elaborate and well made maps, but the relative simplicity of Geller's Pride makes it an good first dip into the world of Fan Missions. Its writing is really good and sets up a solid timeline of events that's fun to piece together. Gameplay-wise, I was able to ghost most of it and had a fun time while doing it.
However, know this before you play: DO NOT SAVE in the puzzle room. You'll kno...,
