My opinion on Feast of Pilgrim kept changing throughout the adventure. My first impression was a very positive one. Then, I began to notice just how many times I fell from the rooftops due to awkward jumps; mantling often didn't work, jumps had to be made from an angle to get to another balcony, or from sloped surfaces to make it all just a tad more obnoxious. I can't think of a mission that has more annoying jumps than this one. The east half (which I went through on my way to the cathedral) felt a little lackluster. There's about three or four mansion interiors you pass by. They don't really do much. My first impression was soured.
Then there's the map. The map is nearly useless. It's hard to find out where you actually are.
The cathedral itself was nice. Not much special, but still enjoyable to play. It's kind of unfair to compare this to Angelwatch from "Life of the Party" as others seem to do. Angelwatch is fully explorable. Here, you see a big cathedral loom in front of you, but only a few parts (mostly the top) are actually enterable. Inside, I found a side objective. It made me a bit afraid. It looked like there was gonna be some fetch quest, taking place all over this hard to navigate city level.
After the cathedral, I began to explore the west part of the mission. Suddenly, the mission felt a lot more fun. The interiors in the west are a lot more varied. I won't spoil them here, they're really unique and provide some really nice worldbuilding. Also, I noticed how much more interconnected the mission was than I thought at first. This made navigating between various sections a lot easier than expected. At this point, I felt like tackling the side objective given to me inside the cathedral. I'm glad I did, for it gave you reason to explore both more interiors, and more readables (which provided snippets of fun/interesting background to spaces).
I tackled two of the three other side objectives (given to you by reading a letter you can select in the shop menu from the beginning). I was genuinely enjoying myself at this point. Though the awkward jumps stay awkward, and the map remains near-useless, traversing felt easier and exploration more rewarding. The variety and scope on display is immense. A lot of soul was put into this one, and once you've gathered your bearings, you have a lot of cool and unique buildings to explore.
Finally, I really like Conall's voice. No idea who Sean Connery is.
