My line of work tends to be messy at times... last night I was contacted by two men from the Merchant's Guild. Apparently they aren't happy with the new guildmaster, some "Morgan Crowley", who has hiked up the guild fees. It's becoming a problem for them, so they've asked me to remove the guildmaster... cleanly.
I'm no assassin, but with a little "persuasion" from these clients, I've been convinced for a temporary career change.
I did a little digging, and apparently Crowley seems to be hated in every Quarter, including his own house. With all this drama surrounding one man, I'm sure I can find some way to finish the job without leaving a mess that links back to my clients... and more importantly, me.
Crowley owns Briarwood Manor, just outside Bridgeport near Eldin Woods. It's rumored he is a bit of an art collector, and has his own gallery. By coincidence, I was at an auction last week scoping out new clients when I noticed him there buying a very nice artifact: The Crown of Betrayal, once owned by the Black King of Menoa, who was responsible for breaking away from the Empire half a century ago. With a treasure of that high value, a quick stroll through his gallery is also in order. The place is likely protected by guards, even so, there should be plenty of items around the manor that can pay for this messy venture.
After tonight, Crowley will be silenced, and I'll be a little richer for it.
