In my line of work you can never be too careful. One little slipup and you lose your night's haul...
Or even worse, your life.
Unfortunately, during my last job, the City Watch caught me with my pants down and my blackjack out. I was tired and careless and now I've had to pay the price by having to pawn off most of my gear to bribe them.
After returning home empty-handed I saw a man standing at my front door. It struck me as odd because I don't usually attract clients like him and he was just standing there patiently even though it was pouring down rain. I reluctantly agreed to let him come inside and discuss what he called a simple yet lucrative job offer.
He started to tell me a story about an old house he used to live in that he believes is now haunted. He said that during the night he would wake to the sound of screams and crying but he was home alone.
Apparently things went too far one night when the house actually spoke to him, and wanted him to leave. In his fearful state he fled not grabbing much. Now he wants me to go and pick up some of the items he left behind.
I don't really believe in the supernatural, but hey, I'll happily take his coin for a little bit of spring cleaning.
