My most embarrassing moment? Hmm, let me think. Well, there was this one time ... but I'd rather not talk about it. Sigh Well, if you insist. It all started with a letter. A job offer - from an old hermit woman of all things. She said she had "an offer I couldn't refuse" and that I was the only thief that could pull it off. Her name was Hester - a reclusive widow who live alone on the edge of Blackwood Forest. Rumor had it that she was a little crazy and my first instinct was to simply throw the letter away. After all, I'm not usually hired by penniless widows! However, if this business has taught me anything, it is the value of taking calculated risks. I figured it couldn't hurt to check out her offer. Worst case scenario, I would waste a few hours travel time and have to deal with some cazy lady. If the offer was for real, I'd have rent for several months and little extra for my retirement fund. I figured it was worth the risk . . . too bad I was wrong. At any rate, Hester had asked me to meet her at her home to discuss the details. So off I rode to her little hovel in the woods, prepared for one old woman - or so I thought! What happened next is not for the faint of heart . . . .
