Your friend Roland, the one you served time with, that got you a map to escape jail in the past, has given you an ancient map and scroll to help you find Crom's Blade. The map is very crude and in terrible shape so use it only as a reference, the scroll was being translated by the Mechanists priest Father Lucas. Lucas didn't finish translating it before Roland stole it, but it should come in handy. You hopped a Mechanist train for a free ride to the excavation site and jumped out before it came to a complete stop. You found an ice cave that looks like it goes in the right direction, now you must get into the castle.
Once upon a time...
There lived a king of great virtue, his name Crom, that wielded the power of undying fire. His Castle was on Mount BenMorgh in the Cimmerian mountains. It is said that Crom had a sword of magical powers, which he used to justly keep law and order in his land. By his side were two very powerful magicians Navicon and Paladies who could see the future, Crom listened to their words and thus won many battles. That is until he was warned of a great plague and an age of ice that was headed his way. He took all the necessary steps to save his people from this disease and stocked up on supplies for a harsh winter. All this did little as his clergy could not define the plague, he was unprepared.
On a late fall day, an icy wind rolled in from the North, and with it a caravan of gypsies. The gypsies were following a very beautiful woman by the name of Lyla. Crom welcomed her and the caravan in, and soon fell in love. She carried with her, nine diamonds, cold to the touch. Soon the icy winds brought snow, for days on end it snowed relentlessly. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, still the snow came. Crom started to forget about his people, his clergy warned him that it was the gypsy caravan that brought this evil upon his kingdom, but his judgement had become clouded with the love he felt for Lyla. And then on one fateful day, after most of the people in the kingdom had already died, the castle buried in snow, Crom's fire also perished. It is rumored that Lyla also perished, but this is pure speculation as the castle had become buried in the ice and never seen again, that is until the Hammerites started excavating it.
You are in search of this magical blade of tremendous power. It is rumored that whoever holds this sword holds the future of mankind in his hands. Better not let the Mechanist Elite forces get their hands on it, the Hammerites went in search of it, and luckily they failed miserably. Crom's Blade lies somewhere within Crom's Castle, in the Northern Regions. The Mechanists have built a rail system for their newest invention (The Iron Horse) which is going to be your transportation. Once there, you will have to make your way through the ice caves and into the castle. After you have found the much sought after blade, get back onto the train. An old friend of yours has given you an ancient map of the castle, it's only a few small bits and pieces, so you'll end up doing a bit of exploring, lots of nooks and crannies in a place this large. If Lyla also perished, then her nine diamonds should still be held within the castle walls, they could be worth quite a bit of cash, find them if you can. It is said that they are very hard to see in water, turn on a light if you need to. They can be pretty hard to see in the snow also, look carefully.
