Hindered by financial troubles Garrett has chosen to take up larceny once again.
During one of his recent robberies, fate made it that Garrett met an older, yet less skillful thief named Dupont and, oddly enough, both of them found relatively common ground. Being less skillful then the former, Dupont decided to hire Garrett for a job...
Before long, Garrett infers that Dupont must have been personally involved with deviant Hammerite movements some time ago. In fact, the job Dupont has for him consists of putting a heretic presbyter named Victor Roget to the sword. While Garrett would have prefered to avoid this kind of rancorous thuggism, Dupont stated that he would bestow no less than half of his capital, for as long as he still breaths, to whoever would execute his request. Moreover, he insisted that Roget had to die that very night, and that if Garrett wouldn't consent, he would hire some forsaken street orphan to do his job. Hearing this Garrett, rembering his own childhood, decides to take the job, but not without reserve.
Garrett soon found out that Roget isin't your ordinary heretic ether. In fact, he's one of the New Markets most powerful kingpins as well as a popular heretic reverend. He recently became the owner of a lofty building in the New Market called the Seraphic Embassy, and owns a few other well respected establishments elsewhere, among which an art museum and a bank, of all things. Garrett hence learned that this job will not be a simple case of sneaking through a window and jugulate a pawn in his sleep.
