A great two Mission affair. Garret starts off in a quaint little town looking for his client's tavern. She wants Garrett to get her an artifact called "The Scarlet Cascabel". It's located in a hotel north of town. Once Garrett drops off his gear, he'll get to explore the town and a haunted mine. The town is chalked full of loot and secret passages. It's a fun little romp that doesn't take long. The way forward is also well telegraphed as you can see the passage to the hotel from inside the tavern's basement. Classic locked door and key scenario.


The second mission is where the mission takes a horrifying turn, in a good way! As you break into the guests rooms , you'll get little glimpses of supernatural activity! The mine was just an appetizer to the haunted hotel. From the shadows of people that aren't there appear on the walls, sounds of giggling children being heard through the wall or, the furniture moving without anyone touching them. This mission nails the creepy atmosphere exceptionally well! I would have been happy with just the hotel but, later it's revealed the there's a closed off section to this place. And that's where the horror atmosphere is cranked up to 11. The readables and environmental storytelling produce a pretty compelling story as well! Giving full context to why this section was sealed off, the fate of those that were trapped here, as well as why they had the Scarlet Cascabel in their possession. This section is dark , dirty and, bloody adding to it's unsettling atmosphere.

The puzzle are very clear on what you have to do to solve them. The only exception being a broken tablet you steal.

The only minor complaints I have are the platforming section. In order to get to the top floor, you have to make some pretty annoying jumps. Some of the jumps are spaced a little to far, as it's easy to clip the ledge and fall. And the other one is at the end when your old routes are blocked. It's not clear where to go.

Aside from that, I think this is one of my favorite missions! Highly recommended
