Without a walkthrough, this mission is frustrating and, in some ways, broken. My best example is on the loot; I only lacked the loot objective, and when going back through, I suspected there might be something related to the pool table. My problem was that one of the white balls was knocked off the table. This is not my fault, as I was exploring and (in hindsight) doing the thing I was supposed to do. But T: DP physics was never great. Sure enough, I found a walkthrough, and a significant piece of loot is gated behind getting every pool ball in a hole on the table, but the while balls can't be picked up or put back on the table in any way if they are inadvertently (read: poor engine physics) knocked off.
It is this level of "secret" that fills the mission.
The end boss has a ridiculous number of hit points. After unloading 5 fire arrows on him, I then whacked him with my sword for a solid 60 seconds continuously before he finally died (which was an objective!)
I start with the negative because it was a really good mission, nearly ruined by the player's inability to read the author's mind. And it's a very large mission with areas that are neat at first, but tiresome to traverse over and over again, so not knowing the correct thing the first time is exhausting. On lesser missions, I'd just start over after my save was ruined by the pool bug, but it's far too tedious for me to tackle all over again.
I can't get this site's custom ratings to work, so I'll just say the author deserves a 10 (yes, a ten) on ambition, design, and creativity. I'd give an 8 on the mission itself in terms of look and feel. The story is fine, but I would probably give it a 5. The gameplay is where this suffers the most.
There is also very little health provided, which is normally not an issue for me, but there are a couple of gotchas where health really comes in handy unless you already know exactly what is coming. The other large issue I had was that I couldn't find a written walkthrough for this mission. Which means I had to watch an hour-long video of someone else playing to see why I was stuck.
I also knocked out a person very early in the mission that I was apparently not supposed to know out, gating me out of yet another mechanic of the level because I couldn't read the author's mind.
Love the details and thought of the mission, but after I spend some time away from it, I'll have to come back knowing what I know now to see if I can enjoy it on another day.
