The chalice of souls is a great two mission FM that is similar to the house of blossoms level from thief 2014, both levels are aesthetically great and its cool to play a FM with a snowy weather, but just like everyone else I find the second mission to be a slog, difficult and a bit unintuitive.
The first mission is no doubt great city mission, lots of verticality, interesting areas with readables, of course it is easy to get lost a bit due to the many different areas but I eventually found the key to the sewers with a help of a walkthrough and after that is the sewer level, which is pretty much what you'd expect for sewer level although the gas room was cool. Moving to the second mission which starts in a keeper sanctuary turned brothel, and I m not a fan of this level. The level has a lot of tiled floors and is heavily populated that it almost felt like no matter where I move I d get caught, not to mention the puzzle of finding glyphs which while I didn't find difficult to find all of them but for others it could be the opposite and after finding all the glyphs your left in the air on what it did and now have to explore the whole brothel. While there is a letter that gives a hint I feel like it wasn't enough of a hint or a push in the right direction.
As for the rest of the second level its fine although you have to swim to get the main objective since its not in any of the towers. Overall the atmosphere and aesthetics of the missions is great and the first level was fun to explore and go through, as for the second level its a slog but still impressive level to playthrough if it wasn't difficult to get around or sneak past people and if the puzzle hunt had more hints. 7-8/10
