The first thing I noticed for this mission was the difficulty options: Easy / Expert / Hard (do I choose the middle difficulty or the far right one?) If you didn't notice, expert is usually on the far right and indicates the most difficult option. So did this author inadvertently switch them, or are they calling "hard" the most difficult?
The intro cutscene is audio only and cuts out mid-sentence. I struggled to hear everything said, but I did mostly like the character's voice. There is an echo effect that doesn't sound right, and the grunts need a bit of work, but overall, I liked the comments made and the voicing.
The load out screen has you buy all gear (including blackjack and lockpicks and you don't have enough money to get much at all, and prices aren't listed... so you have to buy to see the price.) So with 300 gold total on "hard" (the far right option), the blackjack costs 200, the sword costs 200, and the lockpicks cost 150 each. Meaning if you buy the blackjack, the only thing left that you can afford is 2 water arrows.
I was able to find the blackjack and sword in the game, but only one lockpick was found. I did a pretty thorough sweep, so I'm not sure if I missed it or if only one was included in the level. Some of the guard patrols and facings can be difficult, so I can't imagine buying the lockpicks and not having the blackjack. I also can't recall anything pickable that didn't provide a key also.
There are some overused textures, and the scale of brushes can be a little off, but overall, it's a good mission and worth playing. I had no problems with Tfix and/or Newdark installed. The game ran from AngelLoader, and the mission completed just fine with me buying the blackjack at loadout. (This is in response to another review that had issues with this.)
