It's difficult to not slant reviews based on timing. knowing what the world knew back then, this was a good mission. But playing it years later you can see areas that need improvement. It works both ways too, Knowing how many all tile, Bafford missions are lurking, this one is refreshing. I found the following technical issues in my recent play-through:
A misaligned door
Stairs that have to be mantled because they were made too large.
Lighting issues where its pure black but light gem is still bright white.
Some objects pushed too far against the wall so parts disappear into the wall.
Overall the issues are minor but easily avoidable and fixable. Still the mission is fun. There are no gotchas or gimmicks used by many fan authors to water down that fun. It's playable and completable and easy on the eyes and brain. This is a good recommend to get some non-cannon Thief play, but the story is very light and it's a quick jaunt into the world.
