Many reviews mentioned how this mission is reminiscent of the Lost City and either Escape! or The Maw, but the ones I am reminded of the most are Lost City and Trail of Blood. It would perhaps be a little spoilery to go into detail as to why it's Trail of Blood specifically, but I'm sure you'll see what I mean when you get there.
This mission follows on from Volta and the Stone, where you stole a valuable (and likely magical) stone from a nobleman named Volta. Now you are scheduled to meet with both your client and a collector interested in purchasing the stone, a meeting which your client arranged. The meeting is to take place in an ancient vault underneath the sewers, to make sure nobody barges in.
Of course, things go wrong. Your client lies dead and the collector went missing. A path leads down further into the ruins, and the collector may still be alive, so your new goal is to go and find him.
The main environment of this mission is primarily inspired by the Lost City, and it makes absolutely no secret of it. The main enemy type you encounter are beastmen that look somewhat similar to the ones you encounter in the latter half of Thief 1. Like the ones in T1 they can be knocked out, so no killing is necessary! Eventually the mission will lead you into much stranger areas reminiscent of other Pagan-y levels from the original Thief games. There's also a ruined Hammerite temple. Lots of stuff to explore, and lots of variety in environments.
There is no loot goal, but plenty of loot. Once you found enough of it, it will trigger as a completed bonus objective. I only found about 800 of 1800 (!) so there are plenty of areas I missed in my trip through the underground. It's quite the expansive cave system and the path towards your main objective is relatively straight, so a lot of side areas can be missed, which adds great replay value to this FM.
Overall a very nice Lost City/weird Pagan underworld style mission you'll be guranteed to enjoy if you like this style.
EDIT: One review likens this mission to Escape!, but I didn't find this to have anything in common with that beyond the enemy types you encounter. It doesn't have the same level of pressure, nor the same story context. It's far more similar to other Pagan-themed missions from the OMs.
