I saw the 'Kill everything' objective on this one and thought that it was going to be a nightmare, but it actually turned out to be a lot of fun. Garrett is on the hunt for a guy called Montrose for some reason and he's also apparently become a crusader in his spare time as well, vowing to destroy all the undead on the island. You're given plenty of tools and a holy sword in order to do so, so the mission isn't going for challenge, but for undead killing fun. I found it somewhat refreshing to let loose and tear everything to shreds, brute forcing myself to the loot and objectives I needed. So definitely not regular Thief gameplay. I'd understand if it deters people from trying this out due to that reason alone. The mission is short enough for this not to become stale or annoying though.
Design and progression is solid, with there being a wizard tower for progression and a few interesting rooms to traverse through. Texturing is solid as well, but story is basically what you see on the tin. Not that it matters much since the mission is quite short anyways, but I'd like to know why there's a zombie apocalypse on the island and all. The start made me feel like the island is located in space though, with the technology for fog not being quite there yet to prevent immersion breaking like that. The outside area inside the compound walls is quite barren and empty though. And so are some of the rooms you get to explore in the complex, though the author definitely keeps improving more and more with every mission they make.
It's a decently fun undead slaying mission with Thief undertones. If you're into older missions and are okay with trying something different then this is an easy recommend from me. Looking forward to playing more from this author.
