NOTES: This is my fifth FM for Thief - Dire Times and Magical Endeavors.
This mission is part of my campaign Dark Age Memories - Life of a Thief. The action takes place way before the events in A Tough Night and Into the Dark Forest and after Raising Corpses. You don't need to play those missions before this to understand what is happening. Just read Garrett's Journal in your inventory at start. It contains all the stoty lines and all you need to know in order to play this mission.

Important: This mission is for Thief 2 The Metal Age. T2Fix_1.27d or newer is required. This misison was built in New Dark 1.27 version.

Briefing

This is a large mission who requires between 2 and 3 hours of play. Do not expect to finish it quick.
It is a mage mission set up in Auldale, the richest district of The City. Garrett has a job to investigate a mysterious illness in this part of the town.
Two castles and the surrounding streets and houses and a small hammerite factory are waiting to be explored.

Needs a little extra 'something'

I've been a big fan of Master of Dromed's work for a while. Some complain that his maze-like missions are difficult to navigate or lack verisimilitude, but I love the kind of deranged excess they offer. There's a joy, at least to me, in seeing these massive missions unfold with a sort of fractal profusion. Master of Dromed definitely has a style...

WAY better than expected

Every now and then you get a Thief 2 FM that literally changes your mood in a good way and reinstates your faith in gaming. This falls into that category. Very dense and compelling. Some great art and interiors as well. Also enhanced by a combo of Reshade and NewDark 1.28.

This is another huge and sprawling mission coming from this author, and one thing can be said for certain - you will dislike it if you are not a fan of their previous maps, or love if if you are one. It is somewhat similar to the 'A Vist to the Baron' in terms of architecture - a huge castle with some minor settlements around it, all begging to ...
