I was offered a very straightforward job last evening, the details for it were dropped off by my door without a word. This one shouldn't take too long, and I've had nothing else coming my way either this late year.
There is an inventor further out of town, by the name of Aronov. He runs his business right out of his estate, his business operating in metalwork, forging, machinery and security systems. They run a tight crew, and during these hours, there are not many people at home, and with Aronov out of town until midnight, I shouldn't meet too many witnesses.
My yet unknown employer wants something personal from Aronov, which was a copy of his ledger. Sketches, personal records and such.
He keeps two copies of it, one on himself and one conveniently at his estate, no doubt stored near the top floors.
Once I've got my hands on the ledger, I am to finally meet my contact in person at a spot near the countryside.
I wouldn't trust this normally, but I was paid enough in advance, and promised more if I am to return with the ledger.
No time to waste, then. I have everything I need including a rough map of the nearby area and estate, and plenty of time until Aronov returns. Time to go.
